How's it going, Reader? It's been a happy Fri-YaY thus far. I'm reviewing all the emails I received for my affiliate manager position. I'm so touched that I have such talented and smart subscribers who are willing to step in and help me with my business goals. Yesterday, I listened to the Authority Hacker Podcast episode about ChatGPT new image improvement roll out this week and how it can affect designers. There is a thread in my Facebook group if you'd like to contribute to the conversation. In the video, they talked about how ChatGPT has made their image creator provide you with accurate text and better image quality (available in Plus and Pro). Before, only Ideogram.ai could do this. Therefore, I canceled my Ideogram after playing with this new feature in ChatGPT for a bit. In my graphic design Reddit group, many designers are afraid due to this update. Some said they are being laid off because their bosses are valuing AI more than them. I don't get it because Ideogram was doing this long before ChatGPT. Maybe people just didn't know about Ideogram. 🤷🏻♀️ The video touched on how difficult it still is to prompt correctly to get ChatGPT to do what you want. The suggestion of offering the AI a sketch of what you'd like was brought up. That was a pretty cool and I really want to try this out to create planner layout concept designs. Then, they went into how the feature could be improved if ChatGPT offered a layering system so items could be moved around to the right place. They said that Canva doesn't really have a reason to be scared because the AI still can't get image creation exactly right. For instance, each time you tell it to change something in the image, it will recreate a whole new image instead of just fixing what you'd like! This can a frustrating process!
