How's it going, Reader? I've had a super Saturday thus far. I thought I would share my story with you this morning on how my life used to be not too long ago. Maybe you can relate. It was almost 9pm and I was still at my desk. My full-time VA had just left because she'd had a beautiful new baby and needed to step away, and I was genuinely happy for her. However, I was also suddenly doing everything myself. βΉοΈ
All of it, every day, landing entirely on me. π« I told myself it was only temporary and that I'd start the hiring process for another full-time VA soon. And then Bryan came downstairs. He was in his pajamas, half asleep, hair messy, doing that thing little kids do where they rub their eyes with their fists. He looked up at me and said, "Mommy, why don't you ever spend time with me anymore? I miss our bedtime stories." I couldn't speak for a second. π Because here's the thing... I hadn't even noticed. I had been so deep inside the machine of running this business that I genuinely hadn't noticed how many bedtime stories I'd missed. How many times he'd probably padded down that hallway and turned back around because the light was still on and mom was still working. I sat there after he went back to bed and I thought about my options.
