How's it going, Reader? It’s been a happy Fri-YaY over here. I’ve got Bryan with me today and we’re taking care of some errands together. I’m feeling especially thankful because running my business gives me the freedom to spend time with him whenever I choose. 🤗 But things weren’t always like this. Years ago, I was stuck in a dead-end 9-to-5 job, feeling completely defeated. 😧 My boss constantly told me I wasn’t creative enough and didn’t deserve my title as a senior web developer and designer. At the time, I started to believe him. I internalized that maybe I really wasn’t good enough. 😨 That’s the power of limiting beliefs. They come from others at first, but if we’re not careful, they become our own. I had a three-year-old who got sick often from daycare germs. My job only allowed 10 days per year for both vacation and sick time. Once those ran out, my pay was docked every time I needed to stay home. Even though I was applying to other jobs, no one was calling me back. We couldn't afford for me to stop working, so I felt stuck. Then one day, my boss fired me. I broke down in the car and had a full-blown ugly cry. 😭 That day felt like rock bottom. But looking back, it was also the turning point. Instead of giving up, I used those 6 weeks out of work to pour everything into a little blog I had started called MomBeach.com. That first year, it made barely $100 a month. Friends and family told me to quit. My sister said it was a waste of time. My husband said I was chasing a pipe dream. Their doubts echoed all the fears I had inside. 😪 But I didn’t let them win. Limiting beliefs lose their power the moment we decide to stop accepting them as truth. That decision changed everything for me. 🎉 I kept going, learned along the way, and eventually built a thriving business that supports my family and gives me freedom I once only dreamed about.
